Palestinians Blame Hamas for Slow Reconciliation

Many people in the Palestinian territories think Hamas is mostly responsible for the absence of a national reconciliation pact, according to a poll by the An-Najah National University. 40.8 per cent of respondents share this opinion, while 22.4 per cent blame Fatah for the delay in signing an agreement.

People in 17 of 21 Nations Say Governments Should Put International Law Ahead of National Interest
A poll by WorldPublicOpinion.org finds that most people in 17 of 21 nations surveyed say their government should abide by international law and reject the view that governments are not obliged to follow such laws when they conflict with the national interest.

One-in-four people in the Palestinian territories think the way the United States deals with Middle East affairs has improved under U.S. president Barack Obama, according to a poll by Jerusalem Media & Communication Center. 25 per cent of respondents in the West Bank and Gaza share this opinion.

Fatah Would Handily Win New Palestinian Ballot
Support for the Fatah movement more than doubles public backing for its opponent party Hamas in the Palestinian territories, according to a poll by the Jerusalem Media & Communication Center. 40 per cent of respondents would vote for Fatah in the next election to the Palestinian Legislative Council, while 18.7 per cent would back Hamas.

Solid Majority of Israelis Back Two-State Plan
A large number of Israelis would accept a peace agreement with the Palestinian Authority under the principle of "two states for two peoples," according to a poll by the Peace Index Project. 64 per cent of respondents support the so-called two-state solution, while 33 per cent reject it.

Israelis Still Prefer Netanyahu Over Livni
More people in Israel think that incumbent prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu makes a better head of government than opposition leader Tzipi Livni, according to a poll by the Dahaf Institute published in Yediot Ahronot. 41 per cent of respondents say Netanyahu is more suitable to serve as prime minister, while 31 per cent pick Livni.

A recent Najah University survey shows that Hamas is losing support among Palestinians. They blame Hamas to be responsible for delaying the reconciliation agreement. Their voting inclinations also show that Fateh is going to get majority in the next General Elections.
